I have many years of professional practical experience as a Singer and Performer, both, here and abroad, as well as academic knowledge in the subject of Performing Arts.
I am a qualified Performing Arts teacher to A level as well as a Singing teacher. I am passionate about the Arts and believe that music and singing can inspire and build confidence in everyone.
Private Singing Lessons
My teaching style and singing techniques are not complicated and are generally classical as this is the core technique for all singing. I will help you understand how your voice works and develop your singing voice carefully, which in the case of a young voice is needed. I teach all ages from 8yrs to 90yrs. I have helped many of my students through GCSE/A level Music and Performing Arts practical exams and auditions for FE, HE and Professional Diploma Performing Arts Colleges, but I also have helped pupils who want to sing with more confidence in a choir or just to find their singing voice for fun. Singing is empowering and good for the soul.
I specialise in Musical Theatre and can offer my students the chance to take London College of Music, Musical Theatre singing/performance exams.
Lessons in my music studio in my garden at my home.

"I have been singing for many years but having had some issues with my voice I had lost my way and my confidence. After struggling for a while I approached Sara to see if she could help. She immediately put me at ease, worked through some exercises with me and suggested ways to overcome my difficulties. I had no ambition to become a great opera singer - just wanted to get back on track so I could enjoy singing again. I felt better even after the first session - Sara was very understanding and patient. She gave me links to the exercises so I could work through them at home. She is able to demonstrate how to breathe, place the voice etc and has helped me regain confidence. She has done me a power of good and although I need to work at it, I am enjoying singing again. Thanks so much Sara"

I run a singing group, Parkinson's Singers, a lovely group of West Cumbria Parkinson's Society members. I work with this group every Friday. Singing along with breathing techniques is very good both for the mind and the body. It's also lots of fun. If you have or know someone with Parkinsons or you'd just like to have a go at singing with a lovely group of people in a relaxed, no pressure and fun environment why not get in touch.
I also offer bespoke Singing/ Performing Arts Workshops

Come along and add some music merriment to your children's life.
As they say you are never too young to start, these sessions are aimed at babies and young children so that they can experience fun music sessions which enable them to participate in the joy of listening and moving to music. I sing all the songs and these songs and activities satisfy a whole range of Curriculum requirements at pre-school and key stage 1 level.
Babies, are held by a parent/Carer who gently and rhythmically moves their limbs in time with the music and in relation to the lyrics. Babies then absorb the music, rhythm and language. Babies can also enjoy the sounds and feeling of the percussion instruments.
Toddlers, for them in addition there are songs relating to daily activities, imagination and thought- provoking action songs. Expanding language development and stimulating creative thinking.
Percussion instruments are introduced encouraging children to listen carefully to the music, each other and wait their turn while developing rhythmic learning and dynamic control.
